How do I get closed captioning off my HD magnavox tv?

The closed captioning is on on my Magnavox HD tv and I can't get it off. I have tried features where closed captioning is and it says it's OFF,but it isn't.I've even unplugged tv for 12 hours and still has captioning.Can someone PLEASE HELP ME!!

Why can't i read the news from your captions?

When i log on to Yahoo you show pictures relating to news but wen i click on the picture it allways tells me this page is not available

I need to know about shamanism for a school essay in World History, specifically the shamanism practiced by the Mongolians. Is it true that shamanism is centered around gods of nature?
