Does anyone know information about Mongolian Americans?

Ever since I found out I carry Mongolian ancestry while researching my family history a year ago, I've been having a hard time finding some information about their immigration to the states. All I know is that my grandmother father came from Inner Mongolia, but was assumed Chinese when he got here so his records say Chinese instead of Mongolian. Other than that I don't know much :(
