Why do so many foreign prostitutes operate in China?Is Chinese economy booming and opportunities are plentiful?

I have seen plentiful prostitutes from Russian, Phillipines, Vietnam, Mongolian etc....in Shanghai, EVEN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!!!
