Is it a bit odd that the Yuan Dynasty is listed as part of the continuous history of China?

You have to understand some of these answers only read what the CCP tells them. They have no idea what was wrote in China before the CCP (as the CCP had all these books destroyed) about Chinese history. The Yuan Dynasty is a part of the Chinese peoples history and culture but the CCP is to ignorant to understand it was a totally different country, or they express this thought to the Chinese people. You are a American living in Taiwan I would guess and I would also guess you have read many historical books on the development of and the changes in the worlds people and economics. Reading some of these answers these people do not have any idea about anything but repeating what the CCP says and this changes each year. The Chinese people have a long and very proud history but the CCP can not claim any part of this history. From the 1940's till the 1980's all the CCP did for the Chinese people was to kill, starve, maim, and destroy what Chinese history they could. When you openly try to destroy the history of a people there has to be a reason and the reason in this case was so nobody would know when and what the CCP did to the people of China. The Mongol's took land in far away places, not the Han and you are right about this term Mongol Chinese? This is another one of the CCP's terms that only the ignorant who only read what they are told believe. This is the same as African Americans, they are Africans but live in the US. The people of Africa did not originate in the US and the Mongols did not originate in China. Some people need to broaden their education. As for Taiwan, the Chinese never wanted Taiwan in the early years even so they gave up any and all claims in their Treaty with Japan in the late 1890's. The CCP now wants it because of the growth and economy that the people of Taiwan have shown to have. Like any spoiled child they want what is not theirs. These people answering these questions would not look so uneducated if they could only read the worlds history and see how all (even China) countries have a similar history in one way or another. To lazy to read and broaden your knowledge! Then look uneducated to those who do not have any problems reading.
