How to save money on a house?

I want to build this beautiful house with some builders and the price tag right now is at 940 thousand dollars!!! I want to take at least 20 grands away from this price tag and i need some ideas of how to do that. for example: not finishing the basement with the builders, have the air conditioner roughed in, etc... i need a lot more ideas... please :D
